I have an older van that was leaking around the windshield badly. They installed a new glass for what I considered a great price. There is a scuff/ knick on the windshield that the technician said he did not notice until after he put the windshield in. They did make me aware of this at the time and I was assured that the warranty would still be valid. They did offer me the option of getting another windshield for keeping the one that was already installed.
