Charlotte Auto Glass Repair FAQ
How do North Carolina ice storms affect windshield damage?
Freezing rain is harder on glass than steady cold. Ice forms in and around an existing chip and the pressure works the crack open, then a mild afternoon swings the temperature back the other way. Charlotte runs through that cycle repeatedly each winter, which is why small chips so often fail between December and March.
Can I still get mobile service in the Charlotte area?
Most Auto Glass Now locations offer mobile repair and replacement at your home or workplace. Weather decides the day, since adhesives cure best under certain conditions and rain, freezing temperatures, or high humidity can make outdoor work impossible. When that happens we reschedule or bring the vehicle into the Charlotte shop.
What is the safest way to clear ice off my windshield here?
A plastic scraper with the defroster running. Caught without one, the defroster with the visors flipped down, a flat plastic card, tepid water, or a de-icer spray all work. Never use hot water, and never scrape aggressively. Both are common ways a Charlotte winter morning turns into a replacement.
Is the work covered by a warranty?
Yes. Auto Glass Now provides a lifetime warranty on windshield repairs and replacements against leaks, molding issues, and glass defects, for as long as you own or lease the vehicle. It covers defects in workmanship and materials, and it does not transfer if you sell the vehicle. Some conditions apply, and your local store can confirm the details.
Can Auto Glass Now fix a window broken in a break-in?
Yes. We repair and replace glass after a break-in or vandalism, including windshields, rear windows, and side glass. Document the damage with photos, file a police report, and contact your insurer, since comprehensive coverage rather than liability is generally what applies to this kind of damage. Cover the opening while parked until your appointment.
Does the Charlotte shop serve nearby towns?
Yes. Our Charlotte location is a short drive from Matthews, Indian Trail, Concord, Monroe and Kannapolis, and the surrounding communities. Walk-ins are welcome, though booking ahead is better since service depends on scheduling and glass availability that day. For mobile repair or replacement, check the service area listed on this page.
Customer Reviews
I was at first skeptical about using a local glass provider vs. a nationally recognized brand, but that was short lived after the customer service experience with Auto Glass Now. They were very expeditious in quoting, scheduling, and installation. Then when the glass started leaking (faulty glass it was determined), I spoke with Bonnie and she automatically ordered new glass and got me priority scheduled for installation without any issue. With six vehicles in our family, I will now be working with Auto Glass Now for all glass needs.
Mandi Eudy,I am incredibly impressed with the service I received here. I needed a windshield replacement, and from the very first call, everything was excellent. I loved that a real person answered immediately—no automated phone systems or endless waiting.
EWNS 4 SEASONS,I got my rear view mirror reattached here and the service was amazing! They were very quick and efficient. Highly recommend this location!
Kiara Curry,Used Auto Glass now twice already on 2 different cars. Both times they were excellent on the price. Worked the quote with you to the exact penny. Best to make an appointment a least a day or two ahead of when u can do it. Remember calibration costs extra on newer cars but they are still reasonable. Quick 1 hr service.
Gerald D,This was a mobile home visit. The representative was awesome. He communicated when on his way and arrived in the timeframe given. He took obvious pride in his work. The windshield is beautiful. I sincerely recommend Auto Glass Now.
