Windshield Replacement & Repair in Roanoke, VA

Freezing rain is harder on glass than steady cold. Ice forms in and around an existing chip and the pressure works the crack open, then a mild afternoon swings the temperature back the other way. Roanoke runs through that cycle repeatedly each winter, which is why small chips so often fail between December and March.

Most Auto Glass Now locations offer mobile repair and replacement at your home or workplace. Weather decides the day, since adhesives cure best under certain conditions and rain, freezing temperatures, or high humidity can make outdoor work impossible. When that happens we reschedule or bring the vehicle into the Roanoke shop.

A plastic scraper with the defroster running. Caught without one, the defroster with the visors flipped down, a flat plastic card, tepid water, or a de-icer spray all work. Never use hot water, and never scrape aggressively. Both are common ways a Roanoke winter morning turns into a replacement.

Yes. Auto Glass Now provides a lifetime warranty on windshield repairs and replacements against leaks, molding issues, and glass defects, for as long as you own or lease the vehicle. It covers defects in workmanship and materials, and it does not transfer if you sell the vehicle. Some conditions apply, and your local store can confirm the details.

Document the damage with photos, file a police report, and contact your insurer, since comprehensive coverage rather than liability is generally what applies to this kind of damage. Cover the opening while parked until your appointment.
