Macon Auto Glass Repair FAQ
How does Macon weather affect an existing windshield chip?
Summer heat expands the glass while humidity and rain push moisture into the damage, where it cannot evaporate back out. Add a long thunderstorm season with wind-driven debris and the occasional hailstorm, and a small chip in Macon has plenty working against it. Repairing it early usually saves you a replacement.
Why did my windshield crack with no impact?
Stress cracks appear without anything hitting the glass. They usually start at the windshield's edge and travel inward, set off by temperature swings, vibration, or pressure. Around Macon the jump from a car baked in a parking lot to full air conditioning is a frequent trigger. Edge damage spreads faster than damage in the middle.
Is it safe to run my car through a car wash with a chipped windshield?
Not a commercial one. Pressure and temperature change stress damaged glass, and water that gets into the chip stays trapped between the layers where it cannot dry. Hand washing is gentler. Leave the windshield alone until the chip is filled, which often takes about half an hour.
Is the work covered by a warranty?
Yes. Auto Glass Now provides a lifetime warranty on windshield repairs and replacements against leaks, molding issues, and glass defects, for as long as you own or lease the vehicle. It covers defects in workmanship and materials, and it does not transfer if you sell the vehicle. Some conditions apply, and your local store can confirm the details.
Can Auto Glass Now fix a window broken in a break-in?
Yes. We repair and replace glass after a break-in or vandalism, including windshields, rear windows, and side glass. Document the damage with photos, file a police report, and contact your insurer, since comprehensive coverage rather than liability is generally what applies to this kind of damage. Cover the opening while parked until your appointment.
Does the Macon shop serve nearby towns?
Yes. Our Macon location is a short drive from Byron, Centerville, Warner Robins, Fort Valley and Perry, and the surrounding communities. Walk-ins are welcome, though booking ahead is better since service depends on scheduling and glass availability that day. For mobile repair or replacement, check the service area listed on this page.
Customer Reviews
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an excellent experience with Jared and Chad! Jared was exceptionally professional, friendly, and thorough. He clearly explained every step of the windshield chip repair and back glass replacement process, answered all my questions, and paid close attention to every detail. He also explained the aftercare instructions very well, making sure I knew how to properly care for the glass after the service. The team worked efficiently without sacrificing quality, making the entire experience quick, smooth, and completely stress-free. Chad also helped ensure everything was completed perfectly. I highly recommend Jared and Chad for their professional, reliable, and high-quality service!
Esmay Nieto,THESE GUYS ARE FANTASTIC!! 2nd time I've used them in as many years. If you need any type of window replacement, contact these guys. Save yourself the headache of SafeLite and get it done locally. The price was almost $200 less than the companies with the tv ads. Auto Glass Now may be national but they have local neighborhood shops. Do yourself a favor and contact them ASAP and forget the commercials.
Myron Pierce,This is not my first trip to them. Fast, reliable service. The guys tried to assist me also with another problem on a truck I just purchased.Gave some super helpful advice. Brought my charger here also. I was in and out. Guys were very courteous. Will return with any glass services I need done.
Renata Moton,I was SO pleased by the entire experience here! From the moment i called to get a quote with the kind lady, to the service i received by the kind man who repaired my windshield! It was complete in an hour and they even came out early to get the job done rather than later! I am so thankful for them in this time!
Avery Maxwell,The folks at Auto Glass Now responded to my call within a matter of hours and had me on the road quickly. I say this because another auto glass company in Macon gave me the runaround and refused to do the replacement. I found the folks at Auto Glass to be professional, easy to deal with and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend them! 5 solid stars!
