Baton Rouge Auto Glass Repair FAQ
How does Baton Rouge humidity and heat affect a cracked windshield?
Both work against you. Heat expands the glass, and moisture that seeps into a chip gets trapped between the glass layers where it cannot dry out, slowly pushing the damage wider. Along the Louisiana coast that combination runs most of the year, which is why a chip here rarely stays a chip for long.
Why did a crack appear with no impact?
Stress cracks form without anything hitting the glass, usually starting at the windshield's edge, set off by temperature changes, vibration, or pressure. Around Baton Rouge the daily swing between a car baked in a parking lot and a full-blast air conditioner is a common trigger. Edge cracks spread faster than center damage.
Should I wash my car if the windshield is chipped?
Not in a commercial wash. Pressure, temperature change, and water are hard on damaged glass, and water that gets trapped inside a chip cannot evaporate, which warps the layers. Washing by hand is gentler. Spot clean the panels and leave the windshield alone until it has been repaired.
Is the work covered by a warranty?
Yes. Auto Glass Now provides a lifetime warranty on windshield repairs and replacements against leaks, molding issues, and glass defects, for as long as you own or lease the vehicle. It covers defects in workmanship and materials, and it does not transfer if you sell the vehicle. Some conditions apply, and your local store can confirm the details.
Can Auto Glass Now fix a window broken in a break-in?
Yes. We repair and replace glass after a break-in or vandalism, including windshields, rear windows, and side glass. Document the damage with photos, file a police report, and contact your insurer, since comprehensive coverage rather than liability is generally what applies to this kind of damage. Cover the opening while parked until your appointment.
Does the Baton Rouge shop serve nearby towns?
Yes. Our Baton Rouge location is a short drive from Shenandoah, Central, Baker, Prairieville and Zachary, and the surrounding communities. Walk-ins are welcome, though booking ahead is better since service depends on scheduling and glass availability that day. For mobile repair or replacement, check the service area listed on this page.
Customer Reviews
I got my windshield replaced here in October. The price was really fantastic and I was in and out in less than 40 minutes. Fast forward to yesterday: I was on the way home when a rock hit my windshield just near my inspection sticker. Called Auto Glass Now, and was in and out in about ten minutes. It took longer to speak to my insurance agent than it did for them to do the repair…
Dee Brandon,Very efficient service from Austin! rear window was fixed & replaced within an hour. Opted for the morning mobile service and he got here around 10am and left around 11:30. For a lifetime warranty and 30% cheaper than what satellite quoted me(oh and did I mention that auto glass stays true to their quote) great deal!
Sidney Armstrong,This was my second time going here. Once again I was not disappointed. I had an appointment and that is exactly when they begin doing the replacement of my windshield. Plus the wait was not long. I definitely recommend you go to Auto Glass Now for all of your repair needs. Good job Guys
Nicole “Nikki” Robinson,Thus is my 4th windshield with them over the years. It started because of the best price, then their service and professionalism added to it. This trip had a small glitch however… when reinstalling the wipers, the tech cross thread the base. This required a replacement. He was very quick to let me know what happened and they were on the phone immediately to get the replacement part. Unfortunately it was a 5-7 day wait, but they handled the best. I’ll have the new part installed next week and I know it will be done well!!
Bobby Suchman,This shop is amazing! Ms Pam answered the phone on the 1st ring, and I was able to stop by immediately for the repair of my windshield. She was informative, thorough, quite knowledgeable and not to mention kind and patient with my many questions. The technician Brandon was awesome, got the job done professionally and I was in and out in no time! He even assessed and offered to replace my wipers while I was already here. This place is amazing! I highly recommend. They even warranty their products and their work! Thank yall!!!
